Idaho's Workforce Development Council Employer Training Grants reimburse Idaho businesses for the cost of training new or existing employees. Grants support skills that are transferable and lead to wage or promotional gains. Applications are reviewed quarterly by the WDC Grant Review Committee, with the next cycle closing June 22, 2026 for July review. All Idaho for-profit employers expanding their workforce or upskilling existing staff can apply.

Who qualifies

- Must be expanding current workforce and/or retraining existing workers
- Training must support skills necessary for economic opportunities or industrial expansion
- Only Idaho taxable full-time, non-seasonal employees are eligible for reimbursement
- Employer may only have one open WDTF Employer Grant at a time

- On-the-job training facilitated by qualified trainers
- Instructor and curriculum development costs (for consortium training)

- Training for seasonal or part-time employees
- Employee wages during training
- Equipment or hardware purchases
- Training for non-Idaho residents

Review eligibility and gather documentation
Confirm Idaho business registration, employee eligibility (full-time, non-seasonal Idaho residents), and that training supports transferable skills or promotion. Download the one-pager and evaluation rubric from wdc.idaho.gov.

Complete the training plan template
WDC provides a training plan template. Complete it with course descriptions, expected skill outcomes, trainee list, and cost breakdown by course and participant.

Submit application via gotomygrants.com
Submit the completed application through the WDC's gotomygrants.com portal ahead of the quarterly deadline (typically five weeks before the review committee meeting).

Review committee evaluation
The WDC Grant Review Committee evaluates applications and contacts applicants about timelines. Decisions typically issued within 2–4 weeks of the committee meeting date.

Complete training and submit reimbursement
After approval, complete training per the approved plan. Submit invoices, completion documentation, and payroll records to receive reimbursement.
First-come, first-served within each quarter — submit in the first week of a new quarter for best odds. Only one open grant at a time; plan your training sequence accordingly.
Deadline & timing
