New York Truck Voucher Incentive Program (NYTVIP)
New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA)
Up to $340,000 + bonuses
Vouchers for NY zero-emission fleets
NYTVIP provides point-of-sale vouchers to New York State fleets that purchase or lease zero-emission medium- and heavy-duty vehicles, non-road equipment, and transit buses. Administered by NYSERDA with the NY Department of Environmental Conservation, the program received $53 million in additional funding in June 2025 and expanded to add Class 3 vehicles, zero-emission non-road equipment, higher voucher amounts, and bonus incentives. Maximum vouchers scale with vehicle class — from $85,000 (Class 3) up to $340,000 for a Class 8 battery-electric truck and $425,000 for Class 8 fuel cell — plus bonuses for disadvantaged communities (up to $60,000), small fleets (up to $40,000), and diesel scrappage (up to $40,000). Vouchers are claimed through participating dealers at point of sale; a single purchaser may claim up to $2 million in any 12-month period.

How to apply
-
1
Confirm fleet eligibility and vehicle
Verify you are a New York-based fleet/business entity and select a qualifying zero-emission vehicle or non-road equipment. Identify applicable bonuses (DAC, small fleet, scrap).

2
Work with a participating dealer
Engage an NYTVIP participating dealer, who reserves the voucher and applies it at point of sale. Confirm the funding group for your vehicle class is open (some are waitlisted).

3
Claim voucher and any bonuses at purchase
The voucher (plus any DAC/small-fleet/scrap bonuses) is applied at point of sale. Provide documentation; remain within the $2M/12-month per-purchaser cap.
~3 hrs
Stack the bonuses: a single zero-emission truck can carry the base voucher PLUS a disadvantaged-community bonus (up to $60,000), a small-fleet bonus (up to $40,000), and a diesel-scrap bonus (up to $40,000) — often six figures of extra incentive on top of the class voucher. Because the popular Class 3-8 group periodically closes/waitlists when demand spikes, line up a participating dealer and apply the moment a funding group reopens; non-road equipment funding tends to stay open longer.
Deadline & timing
Funding groups open and close independently. As of verification, the Class 3-8 Zero-Emission Vehicle group is closed (Class 8 applications from Dec 29–31, 2025 were waitlisted) due to high demand; non-road equipment funding remains available. The program received $53M in additional funding in June 2025. Monitor NYSERDA for reopenings.
