MASS Timber Assembly is a 12-month cohort program for Massachusetts building project teams pursuing mass timber construction. Up to eight teams receive $40,000 in grant funding per project team plus hands-on technical assistance, peer learning, workshops, and a published case study. Who qualifies
- Active Massachusetts project team committed to mass timber construction
- Team must include a project owner/developer, an architect, and a general contractor
- Structural engineers strongly encouraged
- Projects may be at any phase from early design through pre-construction
- Hybrid mass timber, renovations, and additions welcome
- Housing projects must include six or more units

Assemble project team
Confirm owner/developer, architect, and general contractor commitment (general contractor may be named later with a signed statement).

Complete the MASS Timber Assembly Application Form once the next round opens; the August 28, 2026 round has closed.

Participate in cohort
Selected teams attend kickoff, technical training, roundtables, and final showcase over 12 months.
Housing is a priority, especially projects with six or more units. Teams without a general contractor under contract can still apply using a signed owner commitment letter.
