ComEd's Energy Efficiency Program for Businesses provides cash incentives and free facility assessments to non-residential ComEd customers in Northern Illinois who install energy-efficient equipment and systems. The Standard Offering covers lighting, HVAC, refrigeration, compressed air, and commercial equipment with prescriptive rebates. The Small Business track (under 500 kW peak demand) adds up to 30% bonus incentives, capped at $20,000–$30,000. Custom projects receive $0.18 per kWh saved. Bonus incentives available for select communities and Made-in-Illinois equipment.

How to apply

Request free facility assessment
Contact ComEd at 1-855-433-2700 or energyefficiency@comed.com to schedule a free in-person or virtual facility assessment by an approved energy engineer. The assessment identifies eligible energy-saving opportunities and produces a customized report.

Select projects and verify rebate amounts
Review assessment recommendations. Confirm rebate amounts using ComEd's online rebate calculator or with your energy engineer. Check eligibility for Select Communities (20%) and Made in Illinois (10%) bonus incentives.

Purchase and install qualifying equipment
Install qualifying equipment. Retain all purchase invoices, contractor documentation, and equipment specification sheets showing model number and efficiency rating.

Submit final application
Submit the rebate application through ComEd's online portal with invoices, equipment specs, and assessment report reference. Small business customers must submit by April 30, 2026 for 30% bonus or September 30, 2026 for 20% bonus.

Receive incentive payment
ComEd reviews the application and issues an incentive check. Processing typically takes 4-8 weeks after complete submission.
Stack the 30% early-deadline bonus + 20% Select Communities bonus + 10% Made in Illinois bonus for up to 60% additional incentives on top of base prescriptive rates — but must all be applied for by April 30, 2026.
Deadline & timing
The 30% bonus incentive for small business track requires final applications submitted by April 30, 2026. A 20% bonus applies for applications by September 30, 2026.
