Who qualifies
- Must be a Wyoming-based business in good standing
- Must be registered with Wyoming Unemployment Insurance, Workers' Compensation, and the Wyoming Secretary of State
- Must be registered with HireWYO
- Must be in good standing with the Workforce Development Training Fund
- Training must directly relate to the employee's current job duties
- Training must either correct a skill deficiency or upgrade skill level — not introductory onboarding
- Only Wyoming taxable full-time employees are eligible for reimbursement
- Political organizations and most government entities are excluded (exception: county/memorial hospitals and emergency medical providers)

How to apply

Register business in the Grant Management System
One-time registration at dwswyoming.my.site.com/TrainingGrants. Allow 1–2 weeks for approval. Verify good standing with WY UI, Workers' Comp, Secretary of State, and HireWYO before applying.

Build and submit application
Submit through the online portal at least 30 days (and no more than 110 days) before training begins. Include training plan, trainee list, cost breakdown, and trainer/vendor qualifications.

Receive review and execute Letter of Agreement
DWS reviews applications within two weeks. Any requested revisions must be completed within two business days. Execute the Letter of Agreement within five business days of approval.

Complete training and submit reimbursement claim
Training commences per the approved agreement. After completion, submit proof of training completion and invoices for reimbursement.
Preferred industries (construction, manufacturing, healthcare, finance, tech, hospitality) get $4K/trainee vs. $3K — confirm your NAICS before applying. Submit 60–75 days before training starts for comfortable review buffer.
Deadline & timing
As of January 2026, applications can be submitted any day of the month. Applications must be submitted 30–110 days before training start date. Review takes up to two weeks; revisions must be completed within two business days of notification.
