The Verizon Small Business Digital Ready grant application is locked until your free Digital Ready account has completed any two eligible courses or events; the coursework costs nothing but roughly two hours, and it unlocks the form for the rest of the calendar year.

Search results for this grant contradict each other because the program has had two administrators. Verizon Small Business Digital Ready is Verizon’s own free training platform, launched in 2021, and the grant has always been Verizon’s money. What has changed is who runs the award process. Verizon’s Digital Ready site currently names LISC — the Local Initiatives Support Corporation, one of the largest community development organisations in the United States — as the partner administering the grants, and it is LISC’s process that produces the monthly selections and the January 12, 2027 decision date.

The practical rule: whichever door you came through, the coursework is what unlocks the application, and the coursework is on Verizon’s platform. Because the applicant denominator is unpublished, the true probability of winning is unknowable, and any site quoting you a percentage for this grant invented it. What can be said is that the effort-to-award ratio is unusually good for a corporate grant: about three hours of total work, most of it free training you keep whether or not you win, for a shot at $10,000 that repeats monthly rather than once. Compare that with an annual brand competition where a five-hour application is judged once and then expires. The Digital Ready structure gives a single application seven chances inside one calendar year.
Is the coursework worth the hours?
Yes for most US small businesses, because the two courses are free, permanent and reusable, and because the same coursework unlocks a $10,000 application that stays live for months rather than minutes.
