Computed from the GrantCompass verified catalog on August 18, 2026, n=67 programs flagged women-eligible or women-specific. “No deadline” counts programs whose official page states applications are accepted year-round with no cycle (32 of them are CDFI or state loan funds). “Confirmed fixed date” counts only windows we opened the official program page and read on August 18, 2026; annual cycles whose month is known from prior years but unannounced for this one are counted separately as “expected” and never presented as fact. Median award is the median of amountMax across the 23 programs classified as a grant or award that publish a figure; loans, tax credits and in-kind programs are excluded because their ceilings are not comparable to a grant cheque.

The shape matters more than the individual dates. A women-owned business that treats grant funding as a once-a-year event will find, in most months, that nothing is open — and conclude the category is empty. The same business that treats it as a monthly habit has three live applications a month, every month, for a combined ceiling of $11,500 per cycle before any annual programme is counted. 36 of the 67 programs are limited to specific states, across 51 states and DC, so the practical size of your own calendar depends heavily on where you operate.

What's still open in August 2026

The DivInc Women in Tech accelerator is the only fixed, imminent, women-specific deadline on this calendar. Its own application page states a final deadline of Sunday, August 23, 2026 at 11:59 PM CST, with the ten-week programme beginning September 21, 2026. DivInc states plainly that the programme is free and takes no equity; it publishes a figure for partner perks rather than a cash grant for this cohort, so we do not quote a cash amount for it. Our catalog still carries an older $10,000 equity-free grant figure from a prior cohort — that number is not confirmed for this one.

August 31 then closes the monthly layer: Amber, HerRise and Freed. If you read this page after August 31, nothing is lost — those three reopen the following morning for the next cycle.

What's open in September 2026

September is a planning month rather than a deadline month. The Amber Grant, the HerRise MicroGrant and the Freed Fellowship Grant all cut off on September 30 — three separate applications, three separate awards, and in the Amber Grant's case a single submission that stays live for twelve months and is reconsidered each cycle. September 30 is also the date the Tory Burch Foundation Fellows application opened in its last cycle, running to a November 11 close with selections announced the following May. The foundation's own page published no 2027 window when we checked it on August 18, 2026, so we carry it as a pattern, not a date.

The more useful September move is not an application at all. It is getting your eligibility profile straight — entity type, state, revenue band, stage — because every dated window between October and February will ask for the same facts under time pressure. The SBA Women's Business Centers network does exactly this work free of charge, in every state, with no application deadline.

What closes in October 2026

The Galaxy Grant for women and minority business owners is run by Hidden Star and states a deadline of October 31, 2026 with winners announced the following week. It is free to apply and its own page describes the form as a roughly 30-second submission — the lowest-effort real grant application on this calendar. We opened that page on August 18, 2026: the current cycle's stated award is $2,500, not the $4,250 figure that circulates on aggregator sites, which appears to be a past winner's payout rather than the advertised amount.

October 31 is therefore a genuine four-application night: Galaxy plus the three monthlies. Late October is also when the Sephora Beauty Grant opened last cycle — its administering partner's page shows an October 28 open and a November 28 close, with the $100,000 grantee announced the following February. No 2026 window was posted when we checked on August 18, 2026.

What closes in November 2026

Quick answerOne round is confirmed to open on November 1, 2026 — the Boundless Futures EmpowHer grant. Two large annual cycles have closed in November before and neither has published a 2026 date.

The confirmed item is an opening, not a closing. The Boundless Futures EmpowHer Grant publishes its cycle plan directly on its submission portal: the fall 2026 application opens November 1, 2026, with grants awarded in spring 2027. The same portal read “there are presently no open calls for submissions” when we checked it on August 18, 2026, which is exactly why November 1 is worth a reminder rather than a bookmark.

The rest of November is where an aggregator will happily tell you two big deadlines are coming, and where we will not. The Tory Burch Foundation Fellows programme last ran September 30 to November 11. The Sephora Beauty Grant last ran October 28 to November 28. Both are confirmed prior windows and neither is a published 2026 date.

The practical response to an unannounced window is a watch, not a wait. Star those programs in the database and the alert fires when the date is real; the cost of missing a four-week corporate window is the whole year.

What closes in December 2026

December is the clearest illustration of why this calendar is built around monthly habits. WomensNet selects its three $50,000 year-end Amber Grants from the pool of that year's monthly winners, and the Freed Fellowship's $2,500 year-end grant is drawn from its monthly fellows. Neither is a separate application. A founder who applied in March is in the December pool; a founder who waited for a December deadline is not, because there isn't one.

The other December reality is that 41 deadline-free programs — community lenders, state loan funds, and support programs — are as open on December 24 as on any other day. If your funding need is working capital rather than a competition prize, December is not a dead month at all.

The three grants that close every month

These three are the reason a women's grant calendar is worth keeping at all. Every other program on this page is annual, occasional or deadline-free; these are the ones that reward a repeating workflow. All three were confirmed against their official pages on August 18, 2026.

The Amber Grant (WomensNet) awards three $10,000 grants each month — a general award, a startup award, and a rotating business-category award — and its published rules run the cycle from the first of the month to 11:59 PM Eastern on the last day of the same month, with winners announced by the 21st of the following month. A single $15 application covers all three tracks and stays active for twelve months; WomensNet publishes a fee waiver available on request. Monthly winners roll into the pool for three $50,000 year-end grants.

The HerRise MicroGrant, from the Yva Jourdan Foundation and HerSuiteSpot, awards $1,000 a month and states that applications must be in by 11:59 PM on the last day of the month to count for that month. It carries a $15 administrative fee and explicitly prioritises women of colour.

The Freed Fellowship Grant awards $500 monthly plus a $2,500 year-end grant, closing at midnight Eastern on the last day of the month, and charges a $19 application fee. Monthly fellows are automatically eligible for the year-end award.

The workflow this implies is unglamorous and effective: write the application once, submit it to all three in the same sitting, and resubmit each month rather than treating a rejection as a verdict. A fourth program, IFundWomen's Universal Application — now operating as IFW after Honeycomb Credit acquired the company in April 2025 — is not monthly but works on the same principle: one evergreen profile that sponsor-funded grant cycles are matched against as they open. We could not reach ifundwomen.com on August 18, 2026 (the site returned HTTP 403 to our check), so we publish no current award figure for it.

Closed until next year — and one that isn't coming back

Quick answer16 of the 67 programs on this page were not taking applications on a normal cycle on August 18, 2026. Some reopen on a date you can plan around; three of them look retired, and one is definitively terminated.

An honest closed list is more useful than a padded open one, because it tells you what to schedule rather than what to waste an afternoon on. The Cartier Women's Initiative ran its 2027 edition from April 16 to June 16, 2026 and has published no 2028 dates; applicants hear back by December 2026. Sephora Accelerate closed its 2026 intake on March 31, 2026 and its own notification page says updates come in spring 2027. Connecticut's Women's Business Development Council has run both its child-care business startup grant and its expansion grant inside a single February 1–28 window — a genuinely plannable date if you run a child-care business in Connecticut.

Three programs on this list are probably not seasonal, and every listicle still treats them as though they were. The FedEx Small Business Grant Contest ran twelve annual US cycles through 2024; no thirteenth US cycle has been announced, and the “Small Business Grant Contest” FedEx has publicised since is a separate Asia-Pacific programme run with Forbes Asia. Eileen Fisher's women-owned business grant shows no evidence of a cycle since around 2018; the pages still quoting its old $12,500 award are recycling pre-2018 copy. The FedEx Entrepreneur Fund and Boost Camp, run with Hello Alice, last had a confirmed cycle in October–November 2025, and both fedex.com and helloalice.com blocked our verification attempt on August 18, 2026 — so we mark it unconfirmed rather than guessing a window for you.

And then there is the Fearless Fund grant, permanently terminated in September 2024 through a legal settlement. It still appears on grant listicles. It is not a deadline you missed; it is a program that no longer exists, and leaving it on an “apply now” list is the single most common failure of the aggregator pages that rank for these queries.

Two more are open but publish no dates at all, which is a different thing from being closed. The digitalundivided BREAKTHROUGH grant currently lists Northern California and Nashville cohorts with no public application window. The Anonymous Was A Woman Award gives $50,000 each to fifteen women, gender non-conforming and trans artists over 40 every year — by nomination only, with no route for an artist to apply directly.
